Early May saw the annual Camera Club outing which visited Northumberland this time.
After a long journey, the group stayed in a lovely hotel with great staff and great food. Early morning and late evenings made long days for photography, but it seems the dramatic skies escaped them and they had to settle for plain blue skies instead. They visited coastal areas and the Farne Islands to see the wildlife. Some went on to Newcastle for a few nights as well.
An excellent trip with no rain!!!
Elan Valley 2018:
This year, we went to the Elan Valley and stayed at the Elan Valley Hotel. Our hosts Liz and Kevin were great fun and it was lovely place to stay.
We visited several areas of the Elan Valley, going out on the mountain road to the old Silver Mines, Devils Bridge visiting the falls as well. From their we went to the Teifi Lakes high above Devils Bridge where it was superb, but to do it justice we need to go back to capture the sunset on the water. We just didn't have the time on this occasion. We also went to Llyn Clywedog and out on the mountain road to Machynlleth. Weather was fair with very little rain for a change.
Some of us got up early on Saturday morning to capture early morning mist and perfect reflections on the lakes. Success!!!
Sunday was a beautiful day, just perfect for touring the area. Some went to Gigrin Farm to capture the Red Kites feeding.
Of course, the evenings were a good laugh too, plenty of wine consumed to complete the day.
Babs Jones provided plenty of humour aided by Keith Bufton on our travels out and about with everyone making it just prefect. Steve Betts couldn't behave himself either and Roger Walding has been caught on camera breaking the rules and climbing where he shouldn't have. Janet Ockenden, well it was just too much for her, she had to have a sleep!
Keith Sharples came on a Photography weekend with no camera. His new one hadn't arrived, but he did have a point and shoot. Never mind Keith, hopefully you now have your new one.
